Soft Launch and Feedback

It has now been almost a week since we soft launched our first product (Jagoan for the BlackBerry soft launched on November 11th, 2009).  The journey that our team has taken to this point and stage has been very long and bumpy, but we have arrived nonetheless.  Even though we only conducted a soft launch for the product, it is amazing to see how much stress and tension there was in our office the days before we launched.  Of course this is expected, our team has been working tirelessly for many months to create a product that we felt our users will find useful and we are happy with what we launched with.

I was so excited to be able to inform our team about some of the initial feedback we received from our users.  The general compliments we recieved were in regards to how much they liked the colors and feel of the user interface, the usefulness of the data we provided, the fact that all our information was up-to-date and fully intergrated into the application and the amount of entertainment they received from being able to stream/download trailers onto their BlackBerry.

Of course not all of the comments were about how great the application was, we also received many helpful comments on problems some users were facing with Jagoan.  In version 1.0, some of our users were experiancing a "nullexception error" when trying to open the application.  We fixed this right away and released it the day after the as version 1.0.2.

The second problem that has been brought up is the fact that many of our users are getting a connection error when they try to open a page.  Although this does not happen all the time, we are aware that this is a big problem and we have already found the reason for this problem.  Basically, the normal connection that our operators provide are very undepandable.  There are two ways to solve this problem.  The first method is to have everyone single person with a BlackBerry upgrade to OS 5.0, which is impossible and ridculous.  The second solution is to become a paid member of the BlackBerry Alliance so that we can use a special connection that RIM provides.  We are working on implementing this second solution and it should be up and running as soon as possible.  We hope to be able to be using it in our next release.

We hope everyone has had a chance to try our application (if you downloaded v1.0, please download the newest version).  If you haven't you can find out more or download the application via http://jadi.jagoan.co.id
